A project with as simple an idea as to take a picture a day for a year.
The original project began on January 1, 2010 and was completed one year later. At that time, without the benefit of smartphone cameras, the requirements of the project were onerous. Taking a photo every day required forethought, planning and time.
Now, after a decade-long hiatus, the project has been revived.
One benefit of a venture that favours quantity over quality, is that it forces one to find beauty in the mundane, to improve technical skills and to train your photographer’s eye. It is also fascinating to watch the year unfold visually and to have a permanent reminder of events, no matter how trivial. The month of August was based on the daily photo prompts of Susannah Conway’s August Break annual community project.
I hope you will join us.
